This is an interesting development.  Sixty seven years after the end of World War II, Japan and the Philippines are forging a new military alliance at a time when China is threatening to dominate the Asia-Pacific region.   As someone once said,  “Nations have no permanent friends and no permanent enemies. Only permanent interests.”
