Nothing has change in philippine politics, the main no. 1 political issue is ERAP, not the Erap para sa Mahirap, but the Eradication Rehabilitation Against Poverty, and it was worsen since the onset of typhoon Ondoy, that even on this time of Crisis, some politicians were still using this opportunity to prop up their political forever damage trapo image. the only good thing about this, is the election lagay para mabuhayan naman ang ating talagang mahirap na mamayan na mabuhay na marangal kahit na walo ang anak, kayod parin ng kayod to preserved our Family traditional value makadiyos at maka mahirap.

Thanks for your enlightening piece. With the on-going politicomedy, the Philippine-based Filipinos deserved the government and the leaders they have. Imagine Bongbong Marcos, a segurista candidate. Maybe the Filipino voters are matured enugh not to elect a political opportunist. He's not even a copycat of the late dictator.

It's Danding's political show. Whoever nephew Danding place his bet, Danding wins to protect his business interests. That's more than a segurista-oportunista positioning. Filipino voters abroad can't even elect president or senator since they don't go to the polls. So, what's the use of absentee voting?

Perry -

That PacMan would want to run for political office doesn't surprise me, given the number of showbiz and sports celebrities who have already been elected to office. At least in Pac's simple analysis of things, he believes can be of service and perhaps even excel in the field of public service. He managed to excel in boxing because he has a worldclass coach. It remains to be seen, though, whether he'll have a worldclass political mentor as well. But given the political personalities around him right now, all I can say is...hmmmmmmmm. Pray that this champion's pureness of heart remains with him forever. Don't worry about his lack of academic credentials, or his bistaglish, as he now has money to hire the best speech and language coach.

Understand that Brazil's president, Ignacio Lula da Silva only has a 6th grade education, doesn't speak English, though he cut his political teeth while doing advocacy for Brazil's working class. A real product of the "School of Hardknocks". If PacMan's heart is pure, he'll do well, if not...well...

Now, this political hopping... It's indeed worrisome, if people can change their political affiliations and associations as often as they change their carzoncillos. Worrisome, because it only tells us that little, or nothing - will ever change. Hopefully, there are enough cause-oriented groups and other pressure groups that will still make noises and make life miserable for all the tradpols. At least, I look at these groups as the wild card. We do know, however, that not playing the Establishment game is risky. Just look at how many activists have been killed by death squads. It's 1,000+ and counting. And the campaign hasn't even officially begun yet.

Could have been amused to no end with this latest from Perry but his closing paragraph is not funny anymore. Of course, Pacquiao can run as he did already in a losing the elections to Darlene Antonino as congressman in 2007. It should have been made clear that Erap and Edu are running for president and vice president, respectively which Pacquiao is not qualified for being underage. I beg to disagree that Pacquiao can think faster than Edu and Erap, especially Edu who is an accomplished movie & TV personality with facility of English which I doubt Pacquiao can do the same.
