Theres The Rub
by Conrado de Quiros
from Philippine Daily Inquirer

There’s no better time to come out with this than National Heroes Day.
You’ll soon probably be seeing stickers and T-shirts that say, “Noypi ako. Ikaw?”
“Noypi ako” is a movement I have in mind that’s open to any takers. Many friends have already signified their eagerness to push it. Noypi is “Noynoy for President Initiative.” As acronyms go, di naman pilit, di ba?
It’s my contribution to the cause of trying to persuade the Great Yellow Hope to heed the call of history. The …

AS I WRECK THIS CHAIR
by William M. Esposo
from The Philippine Star
The most commonly recognized sphincter is located in the anus where ordure is finally distributed. Ordure is excrement, dung and it can also be used to refer to bad and evil.
Considering the regular amount of ordure we get from the Malacanang Palace mouthpieces, you cannot be blamed for getting the impression that you are looking at a ‘sphincter’ when you see them on television.
Commenting on the June 13, 2009 reported near encounter of a Chinese submarine and the US destroyer …

Consolidated Corruption Charges vs. GMA, Et Al
by Frank Wenceslao
Hon. Eric Holder
Secretary
U.S. Department of Justice
Washington, DC

cc: US Sen. Barbara Boxer and FBI Los Angeles office

Dear Secretary Holder:

To put Pamusa’s investigation report of 8/23/09 in perspective I’ve used it in my revised column “Pinoy Weekly” – in an LA-based Filipino owned English newspaper (below) which is read online www.thepinoyweekly.com and www.globalbalita.com across America, Canada, Philippines and other parts of the world esp. by overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). My point is we’ve solid leads for the Department and FBI to comply with this …

‘How else explain the unnecessary trips she will be making again this month?’

I am now convinced more than ever that Ms. Gloria Arroyo is addicted to traveling or has become impervious to criticism (rhino-skinned?). How else explain the unnecessary trips she will be making again this month?
Right now, she is in Tripoli, Libya, for reasons that do not even deserve to be mentioned here.
Her next stop will be London to speak before the economic forum organized by The Economist magazine on l8 September.
After London, she goes …

On January 8 this year, I began a series on ten presidential wannabe’s, beginning with Joseph Ejercito Estrada, which I entitled “The Hamlet Act”. It has been almost 8 months since that article was printed on this space. Let me reprint an abbreviated version of the same:
Quote the Bard of Avon, “To be or not to be, that is the question” in his well-read Hamlet. For Joseph Ejercito Estrada, dispossessed 13th president of the Republic, that translates into: “To run or not to run, that is the …

Your Chair Wrecker will share with you this July 2009 article of Donna Zajonc, a State Representative of Oregon for three consecutive terms and a Political Leadership coach in the US. Donna wrote her book The Politics of Hope before Barack Obama popularized that term.
Donna regularly sends your Chair Wrecker her website (donna@politicsofhope.com) postings. She was kind enough to allow me to use this article which we hope will enlighten our aspiring leaders.

My favorite senator, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, is to be congratulated for waging what looks like total war against big ad spenders among presumed and self-proclaimed candidates for national offices in the coming 2010 elections. (Philippine Daily Inquirer, August 25, 2009)
In a privilege speech on the Senate floor, Sen. Miriam accused ten government officials of spending a total of P218 million in public funds since last year for “infomercials” that they starred in and which Sen. Miriam said – and most people would agree – …

Balitang Kutsero
By Perry Diaz

“Palin is a sociopath, shouldn’t have authority in public policy,” says a news item. Holy goat! And Sarah almost became “Numero Uno” in waiting!
In a recent poll taken, “63% of all Americans with favorable opinion of Sarah Palin are Birthers.” Birthers are those who insist that President Obama was born in Kenya. However, my investigative reporter, James Macaquecquec, found out that 32% of the respondents believe that Sarah was born in Russia. The incontrovertible evidence was the birth certificate she posted in the Internet to prove that …

When First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo boasted before a Filipino gathering in New York City in their last visit that President Gloria M. Arroyo (GMA) and he had no illicit assets and bank accounts in the U.S., he thumbed his nose at Pamusa and the FBI to belie our accusation he’s being investigated for money laundering and violation of various U.S. anticorruption statutes.

Our investigators doubled their efforts to prove Arroyo’s lying. They focused on GMA’s 15 foreign trips this year invariably with large entourage since January up …
